Thank you for visiting our website. We have been helping individuals
for over 20 years in the area of weight-loss and weight management.
We
know that obesity is an ever-increasing problem
and that the medical problems steming from obesity are on the rise.
We know there are various reasons for obesity. Some people seem
to able to eat everything in sight and never gain a pound yet others
seem to just look at a food item and pounds just cling on like
a magnet. There are some who are more predisposed to being heavier
than others due to heredity and other health issues but we know
that most of the obesity problem comes from consuming too many
calories and not enough nutrients. Most calories come from/in the
form of refined sugars and white flour which is easily converted
into fat.
To be successful in a weight loss, a person should seek guidance
from a knowledgeable physician who can help them cut out needless
calories yet insure excellent nutritional value in the form of
protein (essential amino acids) and good fats (essential fatty
acids)
For most people, the concept of weight loss is a vague one.
We all have a notion what dieting is, but most of us know very
little about how weight loss actually occurs and what consequences
weight loss will have on our bodies.
To understand what weight loss is, it is first necessary to
understand the basic concept of our energy requirements. This
concept is explained by the following 2 points:
- All people, even those who are sedentary, expend a certain
amount of energy every day. The energy required in a single
day varies
from individual to individual. Work habits, age and body
composition and hormones levels, (especially after age 40)
are all factors.
- Everyone must consume foods which contain various proteins,
fats, carbohydrates, amino acids, and essential fatty
acids to replace energy lost and to maintain general health.
